The ORT Pri Etz Chaim School in the capital, Bishkek, provides education for some of the 1,500 Jews remaining in this central Asian Muslim republic.

For over a millennia Jews have enjoyed the benefits of a tolerant native Kyrgyz people, but the community has been troubled by social tensions in recent years.

The school, which opened in 1993 and joined the ORT network in 2004, provides a safe and nurturing environment for Jewish children. It attracts students with academic and STEM-based excellence and boosts family and communal life with its Jewish education syllabus.
