On 28 November, ORT inaugurated a new computer centre at the Israeli Cultural Centre in Moscow. Up to 400 people each week, from children to adults, come to the centre to take part in one of the four different courses that are run there. These courses enable them to enjoy learning while they gather knowledge about every aspect of life in Israel from the Hebrew language, to news, employment opportunities and healthcare. The aim is to attract Jewish people in the region and re-connect them to their roots. World ORT Union has dedicated the centre in the name of Bill Benson, the late father of Claire Connick. Claire Connick is married to Ivor Connick, Chairman of the WOU Central Board and is herself a long-standing supporter and campaigner for British ORT.A plaque at the Centre bears the words: CLAIRE & IVOR CONNICK COMPUTER CENTRE IN LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN WILLIAM BILL BENSON
