New President posting at ORT Switzerland

19.05.03

19 May 2003 ORT Switzerland recently appointed a new President, Robert Equey, to oversee its operations in Geneva. A lawyer by profession, Equey has committed himself to raising awareness of ORT and to ensure that its message of Educating for Life is implemented throughout the world. A committed philanthropist, Equey is active in many Jewish- focussed organisations including the Weizmann Institute of Science and Keren Heyassod. The four ORT committees of Switzerland, ORT Basle, ORT Geneva, ORT Bern and ORT Zurich, support World ORT operations through a programme of fundraising activities. The year 2002 was record fundraising year for ORT Switzerland, with a significant contribution to the World ORT Special Campaign for ORT Argentina. I hope that under my leadership, the organisation will see yet another record breaking year of raising the much needed funds for ORT operations around the world, Equey said.
