Following the success of previous Wingate Seminars, World ORT will be hosting the 7th Annual Wingate Seminar on 15th 19th May 2006 and we have already been assured of almost full participation this year. The focus of the seminar is on Videoconferencing and its Application to Education . During the seminar we will be covering many issues related to videoconferencing, including: ‘The use of videoconferencing for teaching and learning Preparation and planning for teaching using videoconferencing Evaluating a videoconference Bringing History to Life: applications of videoconferencing in the classroom Boundary-free technology for learning sciences Videoconferencing in education: a UK perspective The future of videoconferencing in education The seminar will consist of lectures and workshops by experts in the field of videoconferencing, as well as case-studies, using the experiences of 3-4 participants, and live broadcasts. The aim of the seminar is: To explore the future of this technology from the perspective of its use in education and the impact it may have in this field To share knowledge and expertise about the use of videoconferencing in education with ORT teachers from around the world To develop an understanding about the technology of videoconferencing and how it can be used to enhance the teaching and learning experience in ORT schools.
