World ORT Press Release 14 May 2001 This project is for a scholarship scheme to enable the international Jewish community to come to the aid of young students from deprived families in Brazil. The fund will enable these students to have a vocational education that will put them on the road to self sufficiency and self respect. The fund will assist the payment of tuition fees which student students families would otherwise have no prospect of affording and without which the students would be trapped in a cycle of poverty and denied the training and skills they require in order to earn a living.
