4 November 2002 Scientific American has been bringing its readers unique insights about developments in science and technology for more than 150 years, and is now available in Hebrew thanks to ORT Israel. ORT is very proud to be able to make Scientific American more accessible to people in Israel, offering them insight into new horizons in the world of science and technology, said Zvi Peleg, National Director of ORT Israel. This is a great achievement for the Research and Development team at ORT Israel, he said. It is especially important to ORT Israel because we are giving people in Israel, especially students, who might not speak English, access to such an important and useful magazine that reports on the latest developments in the world of science and technology. More than 120 Nobel laureates have written for Scientific American, most of whom wrote about their prize-winning works years before being recognized by the Nobel Committee. In addition to the likes of Albert Einstein, Francis Crick, Jonas Salk and Linus Pauling, the journal continues to attract esteemed authors from many fields. Scientific American is a global enterprise. In addition to Hebrew, the magazine publishes 15 foreign language editions and has a total of more than 1,000,000 copies in circulation worldwide.
