Mazel Tov to Sandu Chirita from Herzl ORT Technological Lyceumin Moldova for his award-winning achievements at the recent Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (“Intel ISEF”).
Held this year in Pittsburgh, USA from 13th – 18th May, Intel ISEF is the world’s largest pre-college science competition bringing together around 1,800 “top young scientific minds, showcasing their talents on an international stage, where doctoral-level scientists review and judge their work.” (Source: www.societyforscience.org)
Students in grades 9-12, winners of local and school-sponsored science fairs worldwide, are selected each year to take part in the competition organised annually in the USA at which some 75 countries are represented.
Sandu’s research project focusing on “A Novel Approach to Call Quality Assessment Using Deep Neural Networks” impressed the judges, earning him second place in the “Robot and Intelligent Machines” category.
Intel ISEF was created to inspire and engage young talent from the STEM generation, and we are extremely proud to see an ORT student excelling at such a high-profile event.
ORT is a global education network focusing on STEM education and providing life-changing opportunities to students all around the world.
