Second World ORT Hatter Technology Seminar

London, 31st November 2003 The Second Hatter Technology Seminar was hosted by World ORT, from 3rd 7th November in London. The seminar, sponsored by dedicated supporter Sir Maurice Hatter, Vice President of World ORT, allowed for an exchange of information and ideas by ORT staff involved in technological education. Participants included educators from ORT operations throughout the world including Venezuela, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Ukraine and Israel. Participants presented seminars focusing on educational techniques in their countries including ORTs approaches to teaching technology in the Former Soviet Union; Developing a technological capability The design-based approach used in English schools; The role of the school in helping the Arab population, from a technological point of view; and Reforms in technological education in Israel. In addition to the in house sessions, participants also visited King Solomon Jewish High School, in London, where they took part in a discussion on how technology is taught within the British curriculum and met students and educators.
